EEP Group Showcases “360-Degree Waste Management” Innovation at the 9th Asia Waste-to-Energy Summit

Eastern Energy Plus Group (EEP Group) reaffirmed its position as a leader in integrated waste management and renewable energy at the 9th Waste Management & Waste to Energy Asia Summit Thailand Focus, held at Hotel Nikko Bangkok. Mr. Abinash Majhi, CEO of EEP Group, delivered a keynote address on “The latest development and future planning of EEP’s waste management and Waste to Energy Business.”

Advancing the Circular Economy

EEP continues to transform Thailand’s waste landscape through its integrated Waste Management Center in Samut Prakan. Driven by a Zero Waste philosophy, the group focuses on converting municipal solid waste (MSW) into high-value resources:

  • RDF Production: Advanced sorting processes convert waste into Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF).
  • Energy Generation: In addition to the existing 9.9 MW power plant (R-EEP), the group is expanding with three new Waste-to-Energy projects under Mahanakorn Green Energy (MHG), totaling 15.9 MW, scheduled for operation by December 2026.

Eco-Innovation & Smart Technology

To ensure environmental harmony and community well-being, EEP integrates cutting-edge engineering solutions:

  • Semi-aerobic Landfill: The first of its kind in Thailand, designed to accelerate decomposition and minimize environmental impact.
  • Methane Oxidation Layer (MOL): Utilizing recycled soil-like material to cover landfills, effectively reducing methane emissions and odors.
  • AI & Digital Monitoring: Implementing Thermal Drones for fire prevention (hotspot detection) and E-Nose (Electronic Nose) technology paired with PM 2.5 sensors to provide 24/7 air quality monitoring for surrounding communities.

Vision for a Net Zero Future

Aligning with Thailand’s Net Zero Emission goals and the COP26 global climate commitments, EEP Group collaborates with leading academic institutions to pioneer sustainable waste solutions. We remain dedicated to driving the transition toward a low-carbon society, ensuring a cleaner and greener future for the people of Samut Prakan and the nation.
