SAMUT PRAKAN — Eastern Energy Plus Co., Ltd. (EEP) continues to drive its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mission by announcing the success of the “EEP Waste Bank (EWB)” project in Phraek Sa Mai. Within the first two months, the initiative collected over 6 tons of recyclable waste, with plans to expand to 14 collection points this year to support long-term decarbonization goals.

Community Impact: Turning Waste into Welfare
Operating under the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) framework, EWB encourages waste segregation at the source across 7 pilot communities and Khlong Mai School, in collaboration with Phraek Sa Mai Town Municipality.
- Key Milestones: 180 active members have contributed 6 tons of recyclables (avg. 39.69 kg/person/month).
- 100% Accuracy: Participants achieved a perfect score in waste sorting standards.
- Social Returns: Over 100,000 THB worth of rewards, including eggs and household essentials, have been distributed to reduce living expenses for residents.
From “Orphan Waste” to Renewable Energy (RDF)
Going beyond traditional recycling, EEP processes “Orphan Waste” (non-recyclable items) into Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) for industrial use. Once fully operational, the project aims to:
- Divert Waste from Landfills: 35 tons per year.
- Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Approx. 15 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent ($tCO_2e$) per year.
Fostering Circularity: “New Home for Trees” Workshop
EEP also promotes Reuse through the “New Home for Trees” workshop, teaching residents to upcycle household waste into plant pots. Participants received various saplings to increase green spaces in their neighborhoods, fostering a mindset of environmental stewardship.
Commitment to Sustainability
EEP remains dedicated to the philosophy of “Living Friendly and Sustainably with the Community.” The company utilizes rigorous Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)—such as monthly waste volume, sorting accuracy, and member satisfaction—to ensure EWB serves as a scalable model for sustainable waste management in Thailand.
