PM 2.5 Dust Levels in Samut Prakan
Significantly Reduced
Over the past two days, PM 2.5 dust levels in Samut Prakan province
had risen to hazardous levels, posing a serious health risk to residents. In
response, both government and private sectors in Samut Prakan collaborated to
mitigate the severity of PM 2.5 pollution by deploying long-range water mist
spray trucks. These trucks operated both at ground level and in elevated areas
to disperse mist into the air.
The highest deployment of long-range water mist spray trucks was at
the community landfill site of EEP Company, located in Phraeksa Mai
subdistrict. This site, often referred to as the “Garbage
Mountain of Samut Prakan,” was strategically chosen as the
most suitable location for water mist spraying, as it allowed the mist to reach
higher and farther than ground-level operations.
This collaborative effort was initiated by Mr.
Suphamit Chinsri, Governor of Samut Prakan Province, Ms. Nantida Kaewbuasai,
President of the Samut Prakan Provincial Administrative Organization, Mr.
Amnuay Boonriew, Mayor of Phraeksa Mai Municipality, Ms. Manitkan Boonriew,
Member of the Samut Prakan Provincial Administrative Organization, and Mr.
Abinash Majhi, CEO of Eastern Energy Plus Group.
They unanimously agreed on the urgent need to improve the quality of life for
Samut Prakan residents by addressing the severe PM 2.5 pollution.
The “Garbage Mountain” was
identified as the most effective location for mist spraying. Water mist spray
trucks from the Samut Prakan Provincial Administrative
Organization, Phraeksa Mai Municipality, and Eastern Energy Plus Group
were stationed at the site and will continue spraying water mist daily until PM
2.5 levels in Samut Prakan are significantly reduced.
