Sharing Sustainable Waste Management Practices and Carbon Reduction Strategies
Bangkok, Thailand — Eastern Energy Plus Co., Ltd. (EEP), led by Mr. Abinash Majhi, Chief Executive Officer, participated in the 12th 3R International Scientific Conference on Material Cycles and Waste Management – Innovation Beyond Net Zero (The 3RINCs). The conference serves as a significant international platform for knowledge exchange on waste management technologies, sustainable material cycles, and collaborative approaches among academia, government agencies, and private sector organizations.
During the conference, Mr. Majhi presented Eastern Energy Plus’s approach to sustainable waste management, focusing on strategies to reduce carbon footprint emissions—one of the key contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. The presentation highlighted the company’s efforts to enhance waste management efficiency and convert waste into energy, helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions while supporting long-term environmental sustainability.
Eastern Energy Plus has continuously prioritized the elevation of environmental management standards through the application of advanced environmental technologies. This includes the rehabilitation of more than 159 rai of land surrounding its landfill facilities, as well as comprehensive air quality management measures. The company implements ongoing control measures for dust, smoke, and odor while closely monitoring PM2.5 levels to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Continuous environmental monitoring systems are also in place throughout operations to minimize potential impacts on nearby communities.
Mr. Majhi stated:
“Through our waste-to-energy operations, the company’s power plant has achieved avoided net emissions of up to 0.56 tons of CO₂ equivalent (tCO₂e) per MWh of electricity generated. In addition, our group’s integrated operations has reduced carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions by more than 90% compared with conventional practices. These efforts contribute significantly to climate change mitigation and support global sustainability and decarbonization goals.”
The conference was held from 9–11 March 2026 at Grande Centre Point Prestige, Bangkok. Eastern Energy Plus’s participation reflects the company’s commitment to promoting environmentally responsible waste management, advancing waste-to-energy innovation, and contributing to global efforts to address climate change through sustainable environmental practices.
