Eastern Energy Plus Co., Ltd. (EEP Group), a leader in waste-to-energy management, recently hosted its annual tree planting event to commemorate World Environment Day 2026. The event took place at the Municipal Solid Waste Management Center in Phraek Sa Mai Sub-district, Samut Prakan Province, with executives and employees gathering to demonstrate solidarity and reaffirm the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
Organized under the concept of the Circular Economy, which focuses on resource circulation and maximizing the utility of waste materials, the initiative aligns with EEP Group’s core vision of eco-friendly and efficient solid waste management. The event successfully integrated the company’s waste management innovations to tangibly expand green spaces through three key highlights:
1. Expanding Green Spaces with Native Flora: Employees united to plant 21 Portia trees, the official provincial tree of Samut Prakan. This effort aims to foster ecological harmony and support local biodiversity within the community where the company operates.
2. Soil-Like Material Innovation: The event utilized a “soil-like material”—a byproduct of EEP’s proper waste excavation and sorting processes—as the primary soil conditioner for the trees. This innovation reduces the consumption of natural soil and exemplifies the company’s success in turning waste into valuable resources for the earth.
3. Creative Upcycling (Tire Reuse): Defunct used tires were repurposed into creative plant pots, effectively reducing waste and extending the lifecycle of materials through innovative design.
Beyond the environmental impacts, the event also fostered employee engagement and organizational alignment. Staff from various departments collaborated to design and paint the tire pots according to their imaginations.
